About Project SEaGAIL

SEaGAIL (Southeast Georgia AIDS Info Link) is a National Library of Medicine (NLM) AIDS Information Community Outreach Project. This NLM program provides support to design local programs for improving information access for AIDS patients and the affected community as well as their caregivers.

Partners in this project include the following: Center for Rural Health and Research, Georgia Southern University, Comprehensive AIDS Resource Encounter, Inc., Magnolia Coastlands Area Health Education Center, Ohoopee Regional Library System, Rainbow Partners (Waycross, GA), Southeast Georgia Communities Project, Southeast Health District, Statesboro Regional Public Libraries, Student Health Services, Georgia Southern University, Wayne County Public Library, and Zach S. Henderson Library, Georgia Southern University.

SEaGAIL increases access to HIV/AIDS related resources in Georgia. The project offers training to librarians, health professionals, staff of community-based organizations (CBOs), and Spanish-speaking clients of CBOs on how to access quality HIV/AIDS resources and information using online databases.

Project partners have developed electronic and print collections of consumer-oriented HIV/AIDS materials in both English and Spanish, and have made them available to the community.
